SIKH MARRIAGE REGISTRATION

Marriage solemnized in a Sikh Gurdwara is registered under the Anand Marriage Act instead of the Hindu Marriage Act-1955, by the Registrar of Marriages appointed by the Delhi Government — under whose jurisdiction the marriage is solemnized or either party resides. No notice is sent to the parents of the parties.

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED UNDER ANAND MARRIAGE RULES 2018 ARE AS UNDER:

1. Documentary evidence of the date of birth (Matriculation Certificate / Passport / Birth Certificate / Driving License). Minimum age: 21 years (male) and 18 years (female) at the time of solemnization.
2. Election Card and Aadhar Card of both parties.
3. Separate affidavits from bride and groom stating date of birth, marital status, and nationality. (Affidavits will be prepared by us.)
4. Ten passport-size photographs of each party.
5. Two witnesses (any side) along with 4 passport-size photographs, PAN Card, Voter ID, and Aadhar Card each.
6. Affirmation that both parties are not related to each other within the prohibited degree of relationship (not blood-related).
7. Copy of wedding card and Gurdwara certificate along with marriage photographs.
8. Copy of divorce decree/order (in case of divorcee) or death certificate (in case of widow/widower).
9. If one party is a foreigner, a No Objection Certificate from the concerned embassy regarding marital status.
